Avengers: Age of Ultron - Hulk

|
By cristalena56 · June 8, 2015
This look in't really based on the character from the movie but it's the eye makeup I wore to see the movie opening weekend. It's more inspired by the colors from the comic book rather then the character in the movie. I did a hulk look years ago when i first started wearing makeup before i knew about blending and all that. :p The cartoon/comic hulk has brighter colors compared to the movie hulk, which i prefer. Also using the brighter colors gave me an excuse to use my Urban Decay Electric Palette.

Items Used:
*Urban Decay Electric Palette
*NYX HD Base White
*BH Cosmetics 120 Palette 2nd edition
*Star Crushed Cosmetics Electric Lime
*Inglot #318
*Elf Studio Cream Liner in Black
*UD 24/7 Liner Black Velvet
*Mayebelline Lash Sensational Mascara

*Apply an Ey Primer. (UDPP)
*Apply a light pink transition shade to the crease. (Too Faced Kiss the Bride)
*Blended in a fuschia/hot pink shade into the crease. (I mixed UD Savage and Jilted)
*Then using a pencil brush I applied a purple shade to the crease. (UD Urban)
*Then i applied a purple shade from my 120 palette.
*Blend
*Then I applied a white base to my lid. (NYX HD Base White)
*I patted a lighter lime green shade to the inner 1/2 of my lid. (Mixed UD Thrash and Star Crushed Electric lime)
*Then pat on a darker bright lime green shade. (I mixed UD Freak and a few green shadows from the 120 palette)
*I then applied the lighter lime green shade to the lower lashline. (UD Thrash)
*Then I blended in the purple shade. (UD Urban)
*I applied some white base to the inner corner. (NYX HD Base White)
*Then applied a matte white shade over. (Inglot #318)
*Lined eyes with a black cream/gel liner. (Elf Studio Black Cream Liner)
*Applied a black liner to waterline. (UD Black Velvet)
*Then applied 2 coats of Mascara (Maybelline Lash Sensational)
*Applied a flesh color to my brow bone. (Too Faced Bouquet Toss)
*** I had recreated the look i wore for my blog and i prefered the original because instead of using just the lighter green shade i used for the lower lashline, I also applied the darker lime green shade.

When i took a couple pictures outside, is when i noticed the big difference of my lower lashline compared to when i first originally wore it. I love how the purple looks though. :)

My skin has been really dry lately, and hate how it looks in natural lighting. :/

Heres a few more full face pictures.

Hope you enjoyed this look. :) I hope you had a chance to check out the new Avengers movie. I really liked it but I can't decide which one i liked more.

Wearable Scuttle Inspired Eye Look

By cristalena56 · June 11, 2014
A couple weeks ago I was watching my Little Mermaid 3D bluray that my hubby got me this past christmas, and decided to do a look from that bird that flounder said "then this seagull came and it was this is this, and that is that..." :p He might not have a singing voice but he's still cute nonetheless. :)

I haven't really used my Sephora Little Mermaid palette I got last year for my birthday, and thought this was the perfect time to put it to use. :)

Items Used:
*Inglot #318 (Lid)
*Sephora Unfortunate Souls (Crease)
*Sephora Flotsam (Crease)
*Sephora Jetsam (Crease)
*BH Cosmetics 120 Palette 2nd Edition Yellow and Orange (Lower lashline)
*Dollipop Cosmetics Leeloo (Lower lashline)
*BFTE Very Vanilla (Brow Highlight)
*Elf Black Cream Liner
*Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara

For a reference of the colors used. :)

*Primer (UDPP)
*Draw a line in the crease with a black liner (UD Zero)
*Blend
*Apply Sephora Unfortunate Souls to Crease
*Dab crease brush into Flotsam and Jetsam
*Blend into Crease
*Pat on white shadow to the lid (Inglot #318)
*Apply white liner to lower lashline (NYX White Base)
*Apply yellow shade to inner 1/3 of lower lashline (BH Cosmetics)
*Apply Orange shadw to middle 1/3 of lower lashline (BH Cosmetics)
*Apply Darker Red Orange to outer 1/3 of lower lashline (Dollipop Cosmetics Leeloo)
*Apply Fleshtone shade to brow bone (BFTE Very Vanilla)
*Line eyes and waterline with black liner. (Elf Cream Liner)
*2 coats of Mascara (Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal)

My eyebrows are all funky... lol

I also did a quick picture tutorial... (I seemed to have forgotten the step of applying the white shadow to the lid)

Star Crushed Minerals Haul Swatches (Picture Heavy)

|
By cristalena56 · March 31, 2014
I've been seeing their products a lot lately throughout the beauty community. So around valentine's day they were having a 50% off sale and decided to make an order. I was hoping that I would find the neon shades that swatches had been popping up all over Facebook, but they weren't released yet(as of now they still aren't released and no idea if they will ever... I hope they do..). So i picked out 10 shade samples and a primer sample. Most indy companies send out their samples in the little baggies, but they send theirs all out in jars (BFTE doe the same). I prefer the jars out of the baggies. I find them easier to find the color im looking for verses the baggies. With the baggies, i seem to look at all of them before i find the color i am looking for. So that's a total plus in my book.

There was a bunch of confetti stars inside the bags and envelope.

The eye shadow samples I bought were $1.00 to $2.00 each and according to sticker on the jar they are .5 grams.

I thought these were very pigmented and since I was given a coupon for 65% off, I think i'm going to purchase some more. I've yet to play with these just yet though. I have some ideas for them though. I've only had them about a week so far. :) I noticed some of these can stain like Black Sapphire and Neptune Star. I also think Orchid could be a little more pigmented. I think it might be because its a matte esque shade and thats why it was harder to swatch then the others. You can make a purchase at their etsy shop Star Crushed Minerals. They are still having their spring sale, so check them out. :)

Thoughts on Bag: I liked my bag for the most part. I love my lashes!! I wore them on christmas!! :) The trio is good but can find better shades of these. The nail polish was awesome but the color. The all in one stick didn't really show up on my cheeks or lips. The lipstick shade I recieved was horrid. I would never buy this color or recommend it. They had all sorts of shades being sent out and i think i got the worse one for my complexion.

By cristalena56 · February 10, 2013
Uncut Color and Make-up Junkie on Facebook are having a contest with a Album Artwork Theme. They got the idea from some of the recent looks BowsandCurtseys did (Muse Album Covers). I did a google search of album covers and the Maroon 5 Overexposed album cover grabbed my attention. It was probably from all the colors that were on it. ;)

I decided to do a cut crease using some of the colors. I couldn't though get the colors on my lower lashline to stay vibrant. :/ I think it was because of my watery eyes. :(

Before Bedtime Play - Sugar Skull

|
By cristalena56 · October 27, 2012

So I was looking at my facebook page last night and saw TheDailyGlamour had done a Sugar Skull look and I decided to play with some makeup before bed and do my own Sugar Skull look. I dont have advanced skills so I decided to do a more simpler one. I have seen Sugar Skulls has been a huge craze throughout the makeup community. In the past year we have gotten quite a few sugar skull items at work as well.

I had trouble applying the white makeup. All I had on hand was a couple white makeup items i bought from walmart for like a dollar or 2. If you have dry skin like me, I dont recommend them. I saw a white powder at Spirit Halloween today for $3.99 that I almost bought though. My allergies have been acting up lately so my makeup started to fade away underneath my eyes. This isn't the best but decided to share it anyways. My hair is a mess because like I said in the title I did this look right before I went to bed.

Items Used:

*Wet n Wild Coloricon Pencil in Black

*Lime Crime China Doll Palette

*Essence Smudgeproof Eyeliner Pen

*Revlon CustomEyes Palette

*Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Woodstock and Radium

*White Cream makeup from Walmart for 99 cents

*Mirenesse Lip Bomb in shade 2 (Awesome Red from October Glam Bag)

Heres some pics of Sugar Skull looks from fellow beauty bloggers I follow (theres are a million times better then mine.):

PowerPuff Girls Buttercup Inspired Look

|
By cristalena56 · May 12, 2012

My BFF asked me to do a look for one of her all time favorite cartoon characters, Buttercup.

I had gotten a green loose eye shadow by cherry blossoms cosmetics in a gogogirlfriend box, and I never used it. I came across it a week ago and put it with my make up I reguarly use. I thought it would work good for this look. Though now that i look at this pic, its too dark but thats ok. I'm trying to remember what colors I used for the final look because it was around 1 am when i was doing this look.

I had only about 15 minutes before when i did this look, so sorry about the quality. I also forgot to use a primer.

*I first applied NYX Shadow Base White to my inner corner.

*I then applied Glamour Doll Eyes Cloud Coverage over it.

*I then applied Cherry Blossoms Cosmetics Dreamy Girl to middle of the lid.

*Next I applied TBN Steal the Night

*Then Dreamy Girl again.

*Applied TBN Steal the Night to lower lashline.

*I shaped my eye with NYC Liquid Liner in Black.

*Lined my upper lashline with Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner.

*Mascara

When i went to take pics i saw my white was creasing. My cloud coverage had spilled, and have not much left, so this might be why because i didnt have much to pat over NYX Shadow Base. When i tried fixing it i messed it up on my one eye. I also noticed while looking through pics i had some specks of white on my brow bone, sorry.

Items Used:

*NYX Shadow Base White

*Elf 100 Pc Palette

*Cherry Blossoms Cosmetics Dreamy Girl

*TBN Steal the Night

*LA Splash Rock Star

*Maybelline One by One Mascara

*Primer

*applied NYX Shadow Base White to the lid and crease, rouding out to the lashline.

*Next I applied GDE Cloud Coverage over NYX Shadow Base in inner corner.

*Next I applied ELF Green to middle of lid, blending it outwards.

*Next I applied CBC Dream Girly to the outer lid.

*Blended

*Next I took a brush and NYX Black Bean and went above the greens drawing a line to shape the eye.

*Applied MAC Pearlglide Eye Liner in Industrial to lower lashline.

*Next I applied TBN Steal the Night to the Black Bean line, rouding out to the outer corner of my lower lashline.

*Next I took a eye liner brush, applied LA Splash Shadow Sealer/Base to it an dipped it into the LA Splash Rock Star Glitter. Applied it then over the black.

*Lined my upper lashline with Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in Black

*Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara

Harley Quinn Make Up Look Part 2

By cristalena56 · May 8, 2012

Continuing on from Part 1

Then i decided my brows looked out of place with the look, so i filled them in with NYX Jumbo Pencil Black Bean.

Then i just decided to shape my whole eye.

Finally I just filled in til it was a mask.

Harley Quinn Make Up Look Part 1

|
By cristalena56 · May 8, 2012

Yesterday for work i attempted at a joker look but it was a fail. Last night though i was trying to think of another batman character to try out and i thought of harley quinn. I'm thinking about maybe doing this one for one of the days i goto the comicon. My hubby really liked my look. When i was taking pics i made a few changes like I did with my 2nd Captain America Look. It started out as an eye look and developed into a masked look. I think i look kind of freaky TBH lol

Items Used:

*NYX White Shadow Base

*The Body Needs Steal the Night

*88 Original Palette - Red

*NYX Jumbo Pencil Black Bean

*Physicians Formula Blush (name has rubbed off, its like a brick red)

*Wet n Wild Color Icon Black Eye Liner

*Victoria Secret Very Sexy Lip Luster in Fired Up

*First I applied NYX Shadow Base White to my lid, crease, and lower lashline.

*I first applied the Red Checkers using the Red from the 88 Original Palette.

*Next I filled in the black squares with TBN Steal the Night.

*I then lined the checkers with Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner and shaped the eye.

*I then Red, then Black, then Red to my lowerlashline.

*Next I filled in the brow bone with NYX Shadow Base White.

*I then took a small brush and drew diamonds with NYX Jumbo Pencil Black Bean. (you could also use a eyeliner pen. I just need to buy a new one. I find Jordana In Color Fabuliner works good for drawing things.)

*Went over the diamonds with TBN Steal the Night.

*Then applied Mascara.

I couldn't choose just a couple face pics. Click on them to see them full size. :)

While taking pics I realized I forgot the eyeliner. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner was nearby so i applied that to my upperlashline.

continue onto Part 2...
