Avengers: Age of Ultron - Hulk

|
By cristalena56 · June 8, 2015
This look in't really based on the character from the movie but it's the eye makeup I wore to see the movie opening weekend. It's more inspired by the colors from the comic book rather then the character in the movie. I did a hulk look years ago when i first started wearing makeup before i knew about blending and all that. :p The cartoon/comic hulk has brighter colors compared to the movie hulk, which i prefer. Also using the brighter colors gave me an excuse to use my Urban Decay Electric Palette.

Items Used:
*Urban Decay Electric Palette
*NYX HD Base White
*BH Cosmetics 120 Palette 2nd edition
*Star Crushed Cosmetics Electric Lime
*Inglot #318
*Elf Studio Cream Liner in Black
*UD 24/7 Liner Black Velvet
*Mayebelline Lash Sensational Mascara

*Apply an Ey Primer. (UDPP)
*Apply a light pink transition shade to the crease. (Too Faced Kiss the Bride)
*Blended in a fuschia/hot pink shade into the crease. (I mixed UD Savage and Jilted)
*Then using a pencil brush I applied a purple shade to the crease. (UD Urban)
*Then i applied a purple shade from my 120 palette.
*Blend
*Then I applied a white base to my lid. (NYX HD Base White)
*I patted a lighter lime green shade to the inner 1/2 of my lid. (Mixed UD Thrash and Star Crushed Electric lime)
*Then pat on a darker bright lime green shade. (I mixed UD Freak and a few green shadows from the 120 palette)
*I then applied the lighter lime green shade to the lower lashline.  (UD Thrash)
*Then I blended in the purple shade. (UD Urban)
*I applied some white base to the inner corner. (NYX HD Base White)
*Then applied a matte white shade over. (Inglot #318)
*Lined eyes with a black cream/gel liner. (Elf Studio Black Cream Liner)
*Applied a black liner to waterline. (UD Black Velvet)
*Then applied 2 coats of Mascara (Maybelline Lash Sensational)
*Applied a flesh color to my brow bone. (Too Faced Bouquet Toss)
*** I had recreated the look i wore for my blog and i prefered the original because instead of using just the lighter green shade i used for the lower lashline, I also applied the darker lime green shade.

When i took a couple pictures outside, is when i noticed the big difference of my lower lashline compared to when i first originally wore it. I love how the purple looks though. :)

My skin has been really dry lately, and hate how it looks in natural lighting. :/

Heres a few more full face pictures.

Hope you enjoyed this look. :) I hope you had a chance to check out the new Avengers movie. I really liked it but I can't decide which one i liked more.

Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette

|
By cristalena56 · February 8, 2015

So I've been following Morphe Brushes on Instagram for over a year now but i've never made a purchase from them. I think I started following them because they were sponsoring a contest at some point in time and to earn an extra entry you followed their instagram page. I remember some posts at the end of december about a palette that was coming out that was hand picked by a girl named Jacyln Hill. I had no idea to be honest who she was. I was like who is this person and what's the big hoopla over this palette. lol I remember just reading comments about people being mad because they couldn't get on the site and then when they did it was sold out. I guess someone was hacking their site at the time of the launch. Well during the next week I was looking up swatches for makeup geek shadows because I was wanting to buy some and that is how i found Jaclyn hill's blog/yt channel. It was watching her videos the first week of January that i found out what her palette was all about. I had actually been wanting some warmer colors since all my shadows are more brighter shades and this seemed like a good one for me to get for those brown/cranberry shades i was looking for. Alas though when i went to purchase it from their site they hadn't restocked it yet but then my hubby reminded me that he was working a beauty show at the end of january in Long Beach. I immediately checked the website for the show and found that morphe brushes was going to be there and only a few booths over. Score!! So I had him pick it up for me while he was there. :)

I forgot to take pictures of the box when i first got it so now there is icky water spots/fingerprints on it...

These shadows are sooo amazingly pigmented. I can't believe individually these only cost $2.00 each, because that is such a good deal. The palette retails for $27.99 which makes them a $1.00 a piece.

I think the last row is my favorite. :)

ES19 - INTENSE GREEN W/SHIMMER (LUSTRE)
Outdoors Flash
Favorites: I love all of them, especially the purples and the pink shade.

I labeled each shadow with the corresponding individual shadow number. </p>

Thoughts: I love this palette. For the most part the shadows are super pigmented and the ones that aren't can be built up. h colors I have used so far blend easily without much trouble wich is also a plus. I work in the stock room and coming home after 8 to 9 hours working my shadows look pretty good with minor fading in the crease area. I highly recommend this palette if you were looking for some warm shades and some pops of color as well. I can see myself using this palette for everyday looks. I'm also interested in trying out some of their brushes. Anybody have any recommendations??

<p>Editing Notes: All the swatches were dry swatches. I didn't use any primer or anything like that. I just swatched each shadow with my fingers.

Thoughts on Bag: There was only 1 item different from my first bag and that was the eyeliner. I wasn't too thrilled about this month's bag. I love the purple liner which was definitely the highlight of this bag. I'm not sure though if I see myself using it though.. I might use it for the waterline or to use under an eyeshadow on my lower lashline. The highlighter is ok but pretty sheer. I hate the cream shadow. I think the color is just ugly and not a good color for my porcelain complexion. I won't use the hairspray. Hairspray i so hard to get out of my fine hair that tangles easily and for the most part I wear my hair up year round because  of the weather. I also work in the stock room at my job so i always have my hair up for that too. I don't really use hair products when i curl/straighten my hair except a spray used to prevent damaging my hair from the heat of curling irons/straighteners. Also I have used argon oil in my hair and it made my hair super oily (i have natural oily hair).

Star Crushed Minerals Haul Swatches (Picture Heavy)

|
By cristalena56 · March 31, 2014
I've been seeing their products a lot lately throughout the beauty community. So around valentine's day they were having a 50% off sale and decided to make an order. I was hoping that I would find the neon shades that swatches had been popping up all over Facebook, but they weren't released yet(as of now they still aren't released and no idea if they will ever... I hope they do..). So i picked out 10 shade samples and a primer sample. Most indy companies send out their samples in the little baggies, but they send theirs all out in jars (BFTE doe the same). I prefer the jars out of the baggies. I find them easier to find the color im looking for verses the baggies. With the baggies, i seem to look at all of them before i find the color i am looking for.  So that's a total plus in my book.

There was a bunch of confetti stars inside the bags and envelope.

The eye shadow samples I bought were $1.00 to $2.00 each and according to sticker on the jar they are .5 grams.

Product: Black Sapphire
Website Description: Semi opaque shimmery blue black.
(Blue Toned Black with Blue sparkles)
INGREDIENTS: titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate, serecite mica, mica, oxides

I thought these were very pigmented and since I was given a coupon for 65% off, I think i'm going to purchase some more. I've yet to play with these just yet though. I have some ideas for them though. I've only had them about a week so far. :) I noticed some of these can stain like Black Sapphire and Neptune Star. I also think Orchid could be a little more pigmented. I think it might be because its a matte esque shade and thats why it was harder to swatch then the others. You can make a purchase at their etsy shop Star Crushed Minerals. They are still having their spring sale, so check them out. :)

Ipsy - Glam Bag February 2014: The Look of Love

|
By cristalena56 · February 20, 2014

Every Ipsy bag is shipped in a shiny pink envelope.

This month's theme is fitting for the month of valentine's day, "The Look of Love".

There's a postcard in every bag showing what brands were featured in that month's bag. Some of the brands this month included Zoya, Pop Beauty, City Color, Phyto, NuMe, and Mally.

The bag part of every "Glam Bag" is a makeup bag. Every month is a different one fitting the theme of that month's bag.

This is how i found the items in the bag. :)

Product: City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon
Description: Available in 4 shades, this silky-smooth, highly pigmented matte blush compliments and blends evenly with your skin's natural glow. Extremely buildable to create a subtle or dramatic look. Ipsy subscribers who receive this product will receive Fresh Melon, Blackberry, Dragonfruit, or Toasted Coconut.
Size: Full Size (8.9 grams)
Where to Buy: City Color Beauty
My Thoughts: Its super pigmented and a little goes a long way. To some this color might look scary at first but blends on smoothly giving your cheeks a nice coralish tint to the cheeks. This is a nice color for the summer month's. I live in phoenix, so it seems like summer almost all year round. :) This product is super amazing being how cheap it is to buy. I highly recommend this. I've been wearing it everyday since I received my bag last week. :)

: $2.99

Product: Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base In One in Spiced Rum
Description: Say goodbye to creasing and fading with Eyetini Eye Cordial Shadow Tint & Base. Eye Cordial's revolutionary formula glides on beguiling creamy color and sets to a transfer-resistant finish that doubles as a wear-extending base under powder shadow. ipsy subscribers who receive this product will receive Spiced Rum, Violette (an ipsy exclusive!), or Ambrosia.
Size: Full Size (0.14 oz)
Where to BuyTini Beauty
My Thoughts: I was kind of on the fence with the color, since gold's don't always look the best on me. Also, I'm not really a fan of cream shadows. They can be hard to work with and crease easily. This shade is super pigmented, and applied easily with the felt applicator. It was very opaque. I however have to say to my fellow sensitive eye gals(guys) this stung my eye a lot. However, when I applied a powder shadow over, the stinging subsided. I'm not sure for the wear, since I only had it on for a short time. I was just testing a eye look out using it.
Value: $18.00
Promo: 50% off $12+ purchase at tinibeauty.com and free nail polish with code: IPSYLOVE

Product: Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Peony Petal
Description: This plumping pout perfector combines the high-shine of a lacquered gloss with the long wear of a stain and is packed full of lip-plumping peptides and avocado and jojoba oils. Lightweight, creamy texture immediately merges with lips & delivers intense glossy color for an extremely long-lasting finish! ipsy subscribers who receive this product will receive Peony Petal or Fuschia Freesia
Size: 4 grams (Full Size 8 grams)
Where to BuyPop Beauty or Ulta
My Thoughts: I thought this was a nice everyday shade. This gave my lips a rasberry pink tint to it. This doesn't have the stickyness like a lot of other lip glosses have. Nor does it stain the lips like a lip stain. It applied easily with the felt tip wand. I also like how flat the packaging is and can be easily slipped into your pocket of jeans or a pocket in your purse. I didn't notice any plumping, so maybe mine was a dud in that department. :p I noticed on the ipsy website people complaining of an odor, but mine had no odor that i'm aware of.
Value: $8.00 (full Size $16.00)
Promo: Save 25% with code PoppingPout at popbeauty.com

I didn't realize the product's name didn't show up in my picture..

Product: NuMe Intense Renewal Mask
DescriptionUnleash levels of moisture that make hair more resistant to breakage from future styling and color treatments with the protective properties of NuMe’s Intense Renewal Mask. Your hair will show drastic improvement and superior results after the first treatment. With a special blend of powerful ingredients, the restorative and rejuvenating effects of the Intense Renewal Mask will leave hair feeling replenished, and alive.
Size: 20 mL (Full Size 177 mL)
Where to Buy: NuMe
My Thoughts: I don't usually use the hair products sent to me, so i'm not sure about this product. Since I work in a stock room, I usually brush my hair and then clip it or put in a ponytail. The only hair products i really use is shampoo and conditioner. I have oily hair, and most hair products make my hair even oilier. If I do test this out, I will add a review at a later date.
Value: $3.39 (Full Size $29.99)
Promo: Receive 50% off plus free shipping and free curling wand with $75+ purchase using code: nipsyparty50

Product: Zoya Nail Polish in Odette
Description: This season's Zoya Nail polish are full of pure pigment, intense color and modern complexity that are a perfect transition into Spring. ipsy subscribers who receive this product will receive Odette or Dot.
Size: Full Size 0.5 oz
Where to Buy: Zoya
My Thoughts: I love zoya polishes. They are long lasting and for the most part they apply smoothly. This one applied smoothly and dried quickly. It was opaque with one coat but i like to do at least 2 like shown above in my swatch picture. I'm not a big fan of earthy muted colors. This was a earthy plum color. Its from zoya's new Natural Collection. It might not be a color i would be reaching for, but will use when im feeling like a more muted manicure then my usual colorful or glittery manicures. :p
Value: $9.00
Promo: Buy 2 get 1 Free along with a Free Nail Polish remover at zoya.com using code: IPSYZP4

Thoughts on Bag:  I enjoyed this bag for the most part. My favorite items are the blush, lip gloss, and nail polish. This is one of the better bag i have gotten in the last few months. The color selection for me was better, then it has been in the past.

These were the other products that were featured in this month's bags.

I've been trying out some of my eye kandy glitters (sprinkles) that my hubby got me at the recent salon/beauty show who he worked at in Long Beach for work. *Applied some more glitter glue.
*Patted on EK Tiny Tart.

Darling Girl Cosmetics 1st Order - Swatches and Review

|
By cristalena56 · September 3, 2013
</p>

<strong><span style="font-size: large;">For awhile now i have noticed the name Darling Girl Cosmetics throughout the beauty world reading blogs, facebook beauty pages, etc... Wasn't til I saw a look XoXo Alexis Leigh posted a month ago that I discovered what amazing colors they have. I had seen a few looks here and there using some of their products but this one had sparkly duochrome shades used in it. I was immediately mesmerized by them. I couldnt click on their website fast enough.

</span><span style="font-size: large;">Once I got there and started looking through the eye colors with my jaw dropping with every click, I knew I had to make an order. I decided to buy a few jars and also ordered a review kit which was on sale for a $1.00 (squeal!!). I thought that deal was super awesome for getting to try out 5 different products. I was going to order one of the lipglosses that looked awesome but they were sadly all sold out. I like that this site has a wishlist, so I can goto it when I want to order something and pick out from the beauties I had already discovered. I am on my 11th page.

Such cute wrapping!! I love the logo!!

This was the review kit I got. I chose 5 shadow samples and they came in the normal sample baggies. I believe each has an 1/8 of a tsp.

*Sweet Savage: Matte Midtone carnation pink
*Rich Gurl: A sky blue thats on the periwinkle side with a green duochrome. Its very sparkly!!
*Persuasion: Medium lavender base with gold shift and turquoise sparkles.
*Unicorn: A shimmery irridescent silvery white but when applied its a irridescent pale pink, maybe even a little purplish with turquoise sparkles.  This was my favorite color I recieved. I already went through the sample and had to order a jar of it. :)
*Obviously a Wig: Magenta with a blue/purple duochrome. I love this color!! I think it makes an awesome lip gloss color!!

Love the flowers!

The Petit jars cost $2.50 and they come with approximately 1/4 tsp in a 3 gram jar that includes a sifter. The full size comes in a 5g jar including sifter with approx. with a 3/4 tsp of shadow.

Basket Case: Bright purple with turquoise shift and gold sparkles.

Dark Crystal: Deep graphite with color shifts from lilac, red/silver to greenish-blue with a red/pink "diamond dust" sparkle.

London Calling: Indigo base with heavy red shift.

My Little Pony: Pale, pastel lavender with green shift and aqua and pink iridescence.

<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>No Sign of Life: Oceanic blue with a brilliant grass-green shift and baby green sparkles.

Dry Swatch with Finger, Elf Primer, and UD Liner Zero

Free Sample time!!

Every package comes with a couple baggie samples and stickers. Also when you make a purchase of $10 or more you get the weekly GWP (Gift with purchase) shade.

Peachy Keen: Peach with pink sheen along with gold/green/purple sparkles. This was a gift with purchase shade but if you contact susan she might have more that you can purchase.
*Bronze Dawn: Ruddy pinky mauve base with strong gold sheen
*Leaping Lizards: <span>medium grey with golden green sheen that shifts to a grey with red/violet sheen

Thoughts: I love all these colors!! They are very sparkly. I find they work well with the glitter glue that I bought when i ordered from them a 2nd time. With all shadows I would say use a primer. These seemed to last a long time and are vibrant. I work in a stock room that only has a couple fans and no ac. I live in phx, so to give you a rough idea of the weather where I am at. I come home and my makeup has very minor creasing if at all. There can be a little fallout but not too bad. I love these and highly recommend their shadows. I can't wait to order more. I'm waiting til Sept. 6th to order some Halloween Shades from the Oh! The Horror Collection. :) I need to swatch these colors with DG glitter glue and will update this post with a pic.

I recently discovered 2 brands during the past month, Darling Girl Cosmetics and Impulse Cosmetics. I've already have made 3 small orders to DG and about to make a 2nd to IC. DG has a lot of duochrome shadows and blushes to choose from. You can order samples, petit jars, or full size jar. They also have an option to make a wishlist. I  found so many colors i like that my wishlist has 11 pages. Impulse cosmetics has duo chrome shadows, glitters, and their most popular item is their matte lipsticks. Im going to try the lipsticks out next.

One of the main colors I used fits the name of this look being that its called "My Little Pony".  One of my favorite toys from my childhood was of course My Little Ponys. The new generation comes nowhere close to being as good as the original from the 80s. I even remember watching the cartoon My Little Pony Tales. I remember even having a purple mlp stuffed animal that had brushable hair. Yes, I was an 80s/90s kid. :)

I found a picture through google of the stuffed animal one i had. :) This one still has such pretty hair!

Of course I had to rock my MLP shirt while wearing this look. I found this top at DD's Discount for $3.99!! I couldnt believe how cheap it was since its a mlp official licensed shirt. I of course had to buy it. :)

</a>Heres an upclose pic of my lips. I love this color as a lip color. <3 Its a magenta pink with a bluish purple duochrome. The Jordana ASAP gives it a pink sparkle. :) You can pick that gloss up from Walgreens for $1.99.
