Madison (Splash) Inspired Eye Look

|
By cristalena56 · May 23, 2013
When I was looking at mermaid pictures yesterday I came across a picture of the mermaid in the movie splash. I love that movie. I was inspired to base my eye look today from the colors of her tail in the movie.

The colors are very summery, so it seemed perfect to come up with a look. Summer is coming up here shortly. I know kids are starting to finish up school since we have been extra busy at work in the past couple weeks. I wish I could capture my makeup better. I always seem to have these dark shadows in the pictures which I try to lighten. I was in a hurry to get to work, and took some quick pictures. Don't mind my funky hair again. My brush is in the car, and I have been brushing it on the way to work. lol (at a red light of course)

Before Bedtime Play - Sugar Skull

|
By cristalena56 · October 27, 2012

So I was looking at my facebook page last night and saw TheDailyGlamour had done a Sugar Skull look and I decided to play with some makeup before bed and do my own Sugar Skull look. I dont have advanced skills so I decided to do a more simpler one. I have seen Sugar Skulls has been a huge craze throughout the makeup community. In the past year we have gotten quite a few sugar skull items at work as well.

I had trouble applying the white makeup. All I had on hand was a couple white makeup items i bought from walmart for like a dollar or 2. If you have dry skin like me, I dont recommend them. I saw a white powder at Spirit Halloween today for $3.99 that I almost bought though. My allergies have been acting up lately so my makeup started to fade away underneath my eyes. This isn't the best but decided to share it anyways. My hair is a mess because like I said in the title I did this look right before I went to bed.

Items Used:

*Wet n Wild Coloricon Pencil in Black

*Lime Crime China Doll Palette

*Essence Smudgeproof Eyeliner Pen

*Revlon CustomEyes Palette

*Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Woodstock and Radium

*White Cream makeup from Walmart for 99 cents

*Mirenesse Lip Bomb in shade 2 (Awesome Red from October Glam Bag)

Heres some pics of Sugar Skull looks from fellow beauty bloggers I follow (theres are a million times better then mine.):

I did a total of 3 looks but the first one was a bust and i was embarassed having to wear it to work... Though a girl at walgreens said she liked my make up.. I had to darken crease to make it not look so bad.. Im too embarassed to show a pic of it. :p I did a look using the body needs shadows but this look I used for the most part the Lime Crime China Doll Palette. For some reason this look it screams out german flag to me.. lol The colors of gryffindor are scarlet and gold. I think maroon and a golden yellow. One of my friends said this look is an inspiration for their halloween look this year. I wore my Harry Potter shirt I got from my friends at HouseofHaha. Its their Chicks Dig Scars t-shirt.

*Next i applied nyx shadow base white to lid, crease, and lower lashes.

*I then went over it with GDE Lover's Lane.

*Then i drew a line to the upper part of my crease and then going diagonally down to lashline with Urban Decay Ransom.

*I then went over the Ransom line with Lotus Noir.

*Applied Black eyeliner to lashline.

I couldnt think of the name of the shadows i used from this palette so i googled and found that the awesome Jangsara had done a look using the same colors. I thought i would share her pic.

Let me know what you think of this look!!

Lime Crime China Doll Palette

|
By cristalena56 · May 20, 2012

I decided to get the lime crime palette china doll palette from bloom.com with my $20 code from signing up for the Pampered Chef Mother's Day Contest. I got my order within 3 days. So lightening fast shipping. They also have a 365 day satisfication guarantee.

I was so sad to see that my yellow was broken and all over the place. :( I had been looking forward to getting this palette for awhile. I sent them a message but i dont want to send it back and then wait for a new one because i wanted it for this next weekend. It had a perfect red and yellow. I got some of the yellow on my hand and i adored the color so much. Once I get a call or email i will decide from there. Ill do a review if i end up keeping this one or if i get a replacement. The palette is $34.99.

Notes: I plan on ordering the Acid Palette when i get paid on Friday.

Which Make up Palette Should I Get??

|
By cristalena56 · May 15, 2012

Ive been wanting both palettes for awhile now. I plan on getting both I just can only purchase one right now.

Sleek I-Divine Acid Palette

Borrowed From Xsparkage

Her look that made me fall in love with this palette was Electro Candy

Lime Crime China Doll Palette

Borrowed from Bows and Curtseys

The look that made me drool for this palette was Wicked Wanderlust.

(yes i know about the controversy surrounding the company but i really like this palette and from pics it seems to have a smooth application and good color payoff)

Which one should I get??? I found the Acid Palette on Ebay for a reasonable price($15.90 including shipping) and a seller with a 99.7 rating. The China Doll Palette I would be getting from bloom.com using my $20 off coupon.
